I was so sad to hear about the massive budgets cuts at the University of Southern Mississippi. I spent two (fun!) years there, and hearing this breaks my heart. Twenty-one academic programs will be cut and 29 faculty members will be terminated for fiscal year 2012. How awful! Click on the pic to see the complete list of cuts.

Today is the birthday of one of my favorite cartoon characters from my childhood: Foghorn Leghorn! It was on this day in 1946 that he made his glorious debut.
